Exciting News! Omnisure welcomes Acacia Insurance to the fold

Categories BusinessPosted on

As you may have seen in the recent Insurance Business news coverage, we’re pleased to announce that Acacia Insurance & Risk Services will merge with and become part of Omnisure effective from 1 October 2024.

Established in 2018, the Acacia Insurance team, including Directors Martin van Rhoon and Mark Williams, provide more than 85 years of specialty mid-market and corporate insurance expertise, particularly in construction and not-for-profit insurance. They also offer the uniquely strong capability of in-house contract reviews.

Strong cultural alignment

Omnisure’s Managing Director Schalk Van Der Merwe adds, “This merger brings a fantastic blend of skillset and capability with Acacia bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to our keen and energetic group of professionals. We’ve created a robust foundation for our business and now have a strong appetite to continue our growth trajectory.”

Acacia’s directors and other members of the team will be joining Omnisure and it will be business as usual for clients. Our team (including our new colleagues from Acacia) will continue to provide clients with the high level of service to which they’ve become accustomed to over the years.

A carefully considered decision

Martin Van Rhoon said there were compelling reasons for merging.

“First and foremost, we wanted peace of mind that we were doing the right thing for our clients over the long term and with Omnisure we have access to an expanded team to enhance our service offering both now and in the future,” notes Martin.

“On a personal note, I’m looking forward to working side by side with my son, Tristen, who has been part of the existing Omnisure team for nearly three years.

“We’d also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our clients and industry partners for their continued support.”

“I think where the real opportunity for us was, and why we jumped at this was the fact that a merger like this really helped us to get to our goal of being a medium-sized, family-owned, service-focussed firm – which is a dying breed,” adds Schalk.

The newly combined business is well placed to offer enhanced expertise, truly independent advice and ultimately look after the best interests of our clients.
